The Results Are In!

During the 2009-2010 school year, Next Generation conducted 385 activities engaging over 2800 students at 11 elementary, middle and high schools, plus 2 special events that engaged over 2600 youth and adults.

Green Schools Program Activities included:

  • 3 Eco Assemblies engaging 520 participants
  • 6 School-Based Events engaging a significant portion of the student body and numerous adults
  • 107 environmentally-themed lessons
  • 178 school garden activities
  • 62 leadership meetings held at 6 schools
  • 11 Eco Adventure Field Trips & Local Excursions with 394 students from 7 schools to organic farms, parks, and open space throughout Marin
  • 13 ‘Alice in Wasteland’ & ‘Go Organic’ Puppet Shows
  • Engaging students and teachers at 8 schools to green their campuses
  • Earth Day Marin & The Marin Youth Activist Awards Ceremony, engaging over 2600 youth & adults
  • Initiating a native plant & drought tolerant habitat garden at Laurel Dell School
